There are two principal target groups within the project.

The Multiplicator who are the technicians to be trained .

The Beneficiaries of the installed systems, the Primary School.

Ten selected technicians shall take part in a training as well as participates in the installation.

The direct target grouped for the project, the Electrical technicians / engineers have graduated from school but at times lack the possibility hands- on applicability of their knowledge gained. Indirectly the project is to reach pupils, teachers and the communities around the schools.

Presently, the school has a bore hole with a pump, we intent to provide them with a Solar water pumping system. Currently the school has 5 permanent classrooms and 2 temporary ones made of wood. We intent to provide the permanent classroom with ceiling fans to provide a cooling environment. Additionally, there shall be bulbs and bulb holder provided in each classroom. These shall be supplied with energy from solar modules on the roof the classrooms. All these shall need cables and other equipment to connect the systems together to make them work. Pipes for water collection might also have to be bought for the water systems. Activities to be carried out within the project are as follows:

  • Development of a training curriculum,
  • Design of the application process for technicians,
  • Selection of participants,
  • Purchase solar of systems and equipment
  • Training of electrical technicians,
  • System installation in the school
  • Handing over and project closure

All the above-mentioned items to be bought play the major part for up-skilling of the technicians. This investment will serve as the hands-on practical training session for the technicians training. They will get to see and experience first-hand and learn how to install an off grid solar system. In this way it is innovative in that, vocational training schools in Cameroon can use these methods in better training student’s student while installing systems in the country. In this way getting well trained persons on the ground ready to work with is the back bone of a country in fostering its renewable energy strategy and targets.
